What should my child wear?

Your child should wear tennis shoes and an outfit suitable for activity. Those registered will receive a swag bag which include a participant t-shirt. We would love for your child to wear that t-shirt during the event!

Volunteers and leaders will be wearing orange event shirts for easy identification.

Where is this event located?

The Sports Program will take place at The Gatorade Fieldhouse (1582 Green T Road, Hernando, MS 38632), North Mississippi’s largest indoor sports complex.

How is the event structured?

This event is a time for children with special needs to experience and enjoy sports. Five sports will be offered with one sport at each court: basketball, pickleball, dodgeball, corn hole, and boxing. Each sport will consist of a demonstration, instructions, drills, and rounds of play in 30 minute rotations. There will be a sport leader and volunteers at each court to offer assistance and direction. There will be bleachers at each court for parents/guardians to spectate.

What if my child needs to sit out during a sport?

Your child may sit out and participate as needed/desired. We will have designated sensory rooms set up if a quiet, separate space is needed by your child during the event.

Can parents/guardians accompany their child during activities?

Yes! Parents/guardians are welcome to accompany their child through the sports rotations. We will also have volunteer “buddies” to assist your child if desired. Please request a buddy on the registration form.

How can I get involved as a volunteer or sponsor for the event?

We welcome additional volunteers and sponsors!
